Jakarta, December 17, 2025 — The Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has officially launched the AI Talent Factory (AITF) as a strategic program for national Artificial Intelligence (AI) talent development.
The AI Talent Factory is designed as an intensive learning ecosystem based on real-world industrial and public sector needs. It aims to produce AI talents who are not only technology users but are also capable of developing, implementing, and creating AI-based solutions relevant to national interests and reflective of Indonesian values.
In his opening remarks, the Head of the Center for Digital Talent Development, Said Mirza Pahlevi, stated that the AI Talent Factory is a strategic initiative for national digital talent development through practice-based learning and use cases relevant to national development challenges.
Furthermore, the Secretary of the Human Resources Development Agency, I Nyoman Adhiarna, reaffirmed BPSDM Komdigi’s commitment to strengthening digital human resource capacity as the primary foundation of the national digital transformation. He noted that developing superior and competitive AI talent is a strategic necessity amidst the acceleration of global technological developments.
The Vice Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, in his directive, emphasized the importance of building AI sovereignty through the reinforcement of national talent. He asserted that the government does not want Indonesia to be merely a market for AI technology, but rather an active player as a developer and implementer of AI solutions.
"Through the AI Talent Factory, we are encouraging the birth of talent that not only understands Artificial Intelligence but is also able to work strategically with the technology and create solutions that have a meaningful impact on the nation," he stated.
The AI Talent Factory program adopts the Triple C approach: Complete, Connect, and Create. This approach emphasizes the completion of updated module-based learning, strengthening connectivity with industry and stakeholder needs, and creating innovative AI-based solutions to address various national issues.
In its implementation, AITF is developed through collaboration with various national universities, including University of Brawijaya, Gadjah Mada University, and Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, and will continue to expand by involving other universities gradually.
Through the AI Talent Factory, BPSDM Komdigi targets the emergence of elite AI talents capable of strengthening the national innovation ecosystem, supporting technological sovereignty, and making tangible contributions to Indonesia's future digital economic growth.
